My Story
(In short)

I began riding way back in 1983 while attending the University of Minnesota because motorcycle parking was free and right next to one of the buildings I had classes in. That bike (a Honda CB550K) had been abused by it's previous owner and I gave up trying to keep it running a couple years after I got it. It wasn't until 2000 that I was able to get a bike again (a new one with a waranty this time).

I wanted a bike for touring but one with a more sporty appeal than a full out touring bike. I started out looking at the Honda ST1100 and stumbled across the BMW R1100RT. After learning about the Paralever, Telelever, ABS Brakes, and the adjustable windshield I decided on the BMW. I do not argue that the BMW R1100RT is better than the Honda ST1100 or any other sport touring bike out there, but it does seem to be the best bike for me.

By July of 2003 I had a bit over 40,000 miles on my RT. Due to an accident I have been unable to ride since July 2003 but will soon be back in the saddle and riding down the road. The pages linked to below are intended to share stories and pictures from some of my trips. I have been to some interesting places and had some interesting experiences. I hope you can find something to enjoy here.

I am not an expert at riding but I am learning. I joined the BMWMOCM (BMW Motorcycle Owners Club of Minnesota) when I got the bike so I could learn about BMW bikes from others who have them. This was probably the wisest thing I've ever done. Not just for what I've learned about the bike but for what I've learned about riding from some of the most wonderful people I've ever known.
